A new rapid transit service has just been launched between Montreal and the Laurentians, which will serve two destinations (Saint-Sauveur and Mont-Tremblant), both experiencing a large influx in high season. The service was put in place based on the principles of tourism economic development and sustainable development, in order to meet tourist needs in the context of an influx of visitors. Public transport becomes a welcome alternative to car transport in the area.
This project, is an initiative of Tourisme Montréal to strengthen connections of the city with Quebec tourist regions. The project was carried out in collaboration with Tourisme Laurentides, Tourisme Mont-Tremblant, Vallée de Saint-Sauveur, and Galland Laurentides, the bus transportation company. In the long term, this should encourage travel between Montreal and two major poles of the Laurentians, as well as increase the number of stays of 1 day or more.
